The Rotary Club of Headingley

  The Rotary International organisation was founded in 1905, by Paul Harris, an American business man and now has over 1.3 million members (70,000 in the UK) in over 27,000 clubs worldwide.  
  All members are expected to subscribe to the motto "Service Before Self" and to try to live up to the main aims of Rotary which are;-  
  · To provide humanitarian service to the community at local, national and international level

· To encourage high ethical standards in all vocations

· The advancement of international understanding, goodwill and peace
worldwide.

 
  All members are encouraged to contribute their varied skills and experience, to the benefit of those charities supported by the Rotary Club of Headingley, although it should be emphasised that no member is put under pressure to do so.
